Preferred Lies
In order to promote fair play the following temporary rule is now in force and will remain so until further notice. A ball lying on a closely- mown area through the green may, without penalty, be lifted and cleaned. Before lifting the ball the player must mark its position. Having lifted the ball, it must be placed on a spot within six inchesof and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay, that is not in a hazard and not on a putting green.In addition on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 17th holes only, a ball lying in any rough or semi-rough area, may, without penalty, be lifted and cleaned. Before lifting the ball the player must mark its position. Having lifted the ball, it must be placed on a spot, in the rough or semi-rough, within six inchesof and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay.*Penalty for Breach of Local Rule*
Matchplay : Loss of HoleStrokeplay: Two strokes
If a player incurs the general penalty for a breach of this Local Rule, no additional penalty under the Local Rule is applied.
